Under the spell

Soon, I will be able to cast a spell on you! Believe or not?

Mr J bought me a vintage version of ‘The Book of Spell’

It ain’t a book of evil spells. It’s all good spells.
Spells to look good, fell good.
Spells to fame & fortune.
Spells to grow labour of love.
Spells to work your lucky charms & possible life savers!

A simple little present left a smile on me.

Now, Mr J, you have to pen down a little note on the book, for me. If not, I won’t cast a good spell for you ah…

Jobs and Men

Posted by Lolli on Friday Oct 21, 2011 Under Thoughts

Hey ladies, did u realize that we are losing jobs to foreign women? We are also losing men to them!

More than often, I would hear stories of SG men with Thai, Viet, Mainland Chinese women.

What happened to us? Who’s in the yaya sisterhood? SG and MY women are suffering the same, I think.

There are just too many independent, strong willed and highly educated women. The men are put off. Ha!

Having said this, I feel that in a way, we lost the traditional thinking that we must be super caring, super understanding like the old generation.
For sure, I lost it too.

Is it life too hard in SG?
Some ppl are borne to lead an easy life. some are borne rich. Some are borne poor. Some borne middle class and works super hard to be rich.
And so, lost all the traditional thinking and stuff to focus on achieving that condo, car and Chanel!

To my yaya sisterhood, let the men be men. Step in when they become wishy washy. (most men these days are like this leh.. Sighs)
As for ‘how to be super caring and super understanding’ I’ve got no idea yet. Struggling in this department.
“where got such thing called SUPER caring and understanding?! Siao ah”

To the men, pls be a man at all times. Dun complain when we take over the decision making process cuz we must have tolerated for a while le.

Bridesmaids

Posted by Lolli on Monday Oct 17, 2011 Under Daily Activities

Recently me and Mr J watched the movie ‘Bridemaids’
The main character (female) went berserk when her BFF was engaged. Note: the lead actress is single. Ditched by previous bf when their biz closed down. She has a fuck buddy. A fucking rich guy who calls her when he wants to have sex. (YES, she allowed him to have sex. Stupid woman!)

So the movie led me into this conversation with my bf.
Well, it’s just interesting to hear each other’s view on not-married-at-our-age.

Do you feel left out cuz all your friends, cousins of the same age or younger are already married?
Some even have kids!

Is there really peer pressure in this area of life?
How abt peer pressure in terms of work designation and pay scale? Or even the material aspect?

He drives a BMW, owns a condo and wear Dunhill shoes & belt.
She owns a Chanel bag, wears ferragamo shoes & cartier watch.

Conclusion: Time ‘forces’ ppl into marriage & having kids, in a way or another.

I’ve seen happily-ever-after and get-the-shit-outta-my-life sort of marriages.
Having said these, marriage and kids are BIG DECISION in life.
I’m sure those who have already made their decision, are very happy with their decision. =)

Plant-Hunting

Posted by Lolli on Tuesday Oct 4, 2011 Under Daily Activities

Photobucket

it was 3 plus on a sat aftern.
we were done with lunch and decided to go plant-hunting so came to this plant nusery at Jurong.
the cats were just lying on each other, amongst the rows of flowering plants, under the slight shelter from the sun.
to them, it’s a perfect day!

so why plant-hunting?
recently i’ve shifted office and desk is right at the door of the new office.
just felt that the feng shui not so good.
according to my fren, as long as the door when it’s opened, doesnt cut into your desk, it’s quite alright.
BUT my back is a piece of glass window where there’s a huge pillar behind.
the only thing to do, is to place a plant to remove all the potential sha qi

haha! i’ve nvr been so superstitious.

What u need on a wet day?

Posted by Lolli on Tuesday Oct 4, 2011 Under GEnEraL

20111004-092157.jpg

Other than the usual brolly, u need rain boots. Unfortunately it’s not exactly cool or a norm to wear it in SG. U will be treated like alien.

I kinda regret not buy it when I was in HK. It would have been super useful on such a super mad wet day.

Even my shin-high boots were wet to the brim.

Keep warm ppl!
Keep your shoulder covered and all will be fine ( tip I learn from my fren )

F1 madness!

Posted by Lolli on Sunday Oct 2, 2011 Under NeWs & EveNts

How have you been?
There’s been so many madness going on, at work (mostly) that i havent got the mood to update.
Too many cooks cooking the same dish which includes my new director.

talking abt him, makes me sigh.
a guy with a job history of 1 job per year.
full of fluff like cotton candy and goes popping with creative ideas like popcorn.
do we really expect such guy to perform at work and achieve 60% of his KPI which is to hit the target revenue? i will update you in 6 mths time.

let’s talk abt happy things!
i am somehow being volunteered to be an usher at F1 Paddock Club by my big boss.
1st thing to my mind, is “KNN! Weekend burnt. no budget to hire temps so use staff as cheap labour”
2nd thing to my mind, is “ok la, at least it’s Paddock which is the best of the best liao. go have the best F1 experience like a millionaire”

recieved the uniform and super access pass!
Photobucket

i hate red. i hate polo tee. i dun look good in red.
really dun know what other colour to match the ugly looking polo tee.
so i did ‘belated national day’ colour matching.
Photobucket

so, what and where exactly is the Paddock Club? if you were at F1, it’s zone 1.
3-day pass is sold at $8,000!
the rich and famous hangs out at this place.
the minute you enter this zone, everything is free.
champagne, wine, hard liquor, beer, crepes, ice-cream, entertainment to 3 Michelin star restuarant food such as Jean-Georges & Nobu (go google it!)

Paddock Club Suites are right above the race teams’ garages. see photo below.

Photobucket

you could even do a pit lane walk! unfortunately, pit lane walk timing is the only chance i have to eat my dinner. so i didnt manage to walk down the pit lane to check out the race teams’ garages. see!

Photobucket

behind each garage, there’s a hospitality suite for the members of the race team to chill, eat, drink and etc.

Photobucket

i tried to find the top fav teams. this is the closest i could get to.

Photobucket

so 3 days of work, who exactly are the guests at the SingTel Paddock Club Suite?
day 1 > SingTel mgt and staff. the tickets were being balloted. so there were NCS ppl and lots of those who are permanent volunteer for some SingTel stuff.
day 2 > partners and clients of SingTel from various parts of Asia (we had Thai, Indonesian, Australians)
day 3 > more partners and clients of SingTel. mainly CEOs, COOs and etc.

day 3 was the most interesting for me.
We had the F1 owner Bernie Ecclestone with Singapore Grand Prix owner Ong Beng Seng, who brought along 3 racers!
Felipe Massa ; Bruno Senna ; Vitaly Petrov

was the only thing that got the ladies all excited! so i just snapped away.. Massa in red ; the other 2 in green in accordance to their race team colour.

Photobucket

Bernie’s so old and so successful. i bet that he’s the envy of all men. (the man with white hair)
He cleverly combine fast cars, pretty women, good food and unlimited booze and calls it Formula One!

Photobucket

the working team somehow managed to take a photo with the 3 racers!! woohoooo!!

Photobucket

talking abt the working team, it consists of high flyers in SingTel from Deputy Directors, Directors to Vice President.
the lady in grey is our GCFO. super accountant!
only me and a colleague are just managers.

Photobucket

u must be thinking where’s the SingTel Grid Girls? i didnt take any photos of them. hee..
instead i took photo of the Miss Universe 2011 and her fellow contestants for your pleasure!

Photobucket

super tall. macham like trees walking past you.
super flawless skin or rather super good cosmestic with awesome make up skills.

there was this moment where all the girls were choosing their Singapore F1 tee to get, all the men got excited!!
their perky asses were facing the men. one of them even had to use his powerful camera to snap the backside of the girls. see evidence below:

Photobucket

coming back to the race, we could see the starting line from the suite. super magnificent!
the mercedes SLR and celebrities and govt officials hanging at the track before the flag off.
Dun ask me how come the grid girl winner Mio is not seen flagging off the race.
Dun ask me how come our singapore gird girls are carrying other countries’ flags.

Photobucket

the race ended with mr Vettel winning his 11th pole in 2011 campionship & SingTel’s generous sponsorship of fireworks!
Photobucket

it also marks the end of 3 days of F1 work (pure hardship of standing long hours)
i couldnt feel my toes.
they will go numb on and off.

of course, the company is nice enough to give us 3 days off from work.
i dragged my tired feet to foot massage the next day!
also ate a feast to compensate the 3 days of inability-to-eat-in-peace-at-f1

so this is the most interesting F1 experience i ever had.
Ask me if i would do the same next year?
i will not cuz i would give the chance to someone else to experience the best of F1 among the rich and famous.

What are words?

Posted by Lolli on Tuesday Aug 23, 2011 Under QuoTes

“Words have the power to both destroy and heal. When words are both true and kind, they change our world.”

“Once a word leaves your mouth, you cannot chase it back even with the swiftest horse.”

and so i chose to keep stay away. keep quiet. have some space.

Hey you

Posted by Lolli on Thursday Aug 18, 2011 Under Thoughts

Hey you, yes, you! The one who has a long list in your hate list.
Isn’t it tired to live this way?
U ruin your own reputation when you stood to unscrupulous ways to get a kick from ‘torturing’ your hate list.

Why mix emotions with work?
Work can never be everything.

What would you take away with you when you leave this company?
What would you take away with you when you leave this world?

Those who were poisoned by your words, will realize that you are the witch one day.

Yes, I was attacked personally in your emails 3 times. Your fingers pointed at me. It was very lowly of you in your designation to do so.

After 1.5 yrs, most of your bosses dun trust your words anymore. You are treated as a ‘nobody’
All these happened cuz of your little acts behind many.
Take it easy. Work can be accomplished in different ways. Threatening and little actions are definitely the wrong way to get work done.

BITCH, I look forward to your downfall.
I will have the last laugh.
Go ahead and attack me for all you want. Have fun!
